My Soul is in Paris...

watch this video and yours will be too. Ooooh to have the je ne sais quoi......

I HEART etsy.

I guess I am just full of love today! It excites me to no end to see creative, talented people doing what they do best. Enter my new favorite love:
bonzie. I am doing a ad campaign for Etsy at school right now and I spend a lot of time on their site. This does two things: makes me insanely hungry for all of the beautiful designs and inspires me to start my store back up (more on that to come).

All that said, check out these AMAZING things by bonzie. I want them ALL. Its vintage romance meets edgy. It almost has a Helena Bohnam Carter in Fight Club feel to it. *shivers* love it!

I have a slight obsession with Alfred Hitchcock movies, Grace Kelly and great photography. Imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon Elle MacPherson's Intimates line website which features not only beautiful products BUT amazing photo-styling ala Rear Window! I love that there is a story being told with these shots, not just half clad models standing around. L.O.V.E.

I'm glad that I scooped these shots up before they were gone. Just recently she has retooled her line for spring and she has a new story to tell on her site! Check it out!

BullsEye Bazaar

On a recent trip to Michigan Ave in Chicago, I stumbled upon the makings of a new Target pop- up store. This concept from the co-branding mavens was at a first a bit of a turn off to me. I have to admit, I am from Minneapolis, the land of Target everything. Our new sports stadium in "Target Field", every possible event is sponsored by Target, even our local Salvation Army is littered with the stores concepts that never actually made it to the store.

BUT, despite my slight distaste for the saturation that Target has become, I have to say from a marketing standpoint, pop-ups stores are relatively genius. In the instance of the BullsEye Bazaar, the had celebrities such as Kate Walsh and the cast of Gossip Girl there to promote as well as peeking Tracy Feith’s summer collection before it hits stores in a few weeks. The store only lasted three days on the MagMile but apparently the fanfare continues. I will be interested to see how Target uses this tool in the future.

And some other marketing perspectives on this concept.

For a recent class project we were asked to create a brand construct for our personal brand. THIS is harder than you might expect. Not only is it hard to assess personal strengths and weaknesses, it is much harder to present those to your peers. None the less, I really like how mine turned out visually and wanted to share it with you. I am hoping to fine tune as time progresses and I have time to percolate with it. Feel free to give feedback and comments!

Thanks~ Liz
